Is Arizona’s budget broken?
The Grand Canyon Institute, a centrist public policy think tank has just completed an analysis of the Arizona state budget.
The report claimed “revenue and employment growth during the current expansion have lagged significantly behind all neighboring states. As a result, the state has nearly $5 billion less than it had in fiscal year 2007 once one adjusts for population growth, inflation, and heightened use of accounting fund transfers. That equates for $3 for every $4 it had in fiscal year 2007.”
