Israel and the Middle East — and taxes, too
There’s too much going on this week to have just a single topic.
Earlier this week, I just got back from two weeks in Israel. I spoke to Israelis, Palestinians, and Jordanians.
I also visited the town of Hebron in West Bank where I spent half a day talking to Israeli settlers and the other half talking to Palestinians. They live in different parts of town and a fence and armed guards separate the two areas. But they are even more separated by different world views.
Then a couple of days after my return, President Donald Trump declared his intent to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This is a very big deal, and a potentially disruptive one with a very real possibility of a violent response.
I will share my observations, but have invited Raz Yalov, an Israeli born dual American/Israeli citizen to keep me honest and share his perspectives as well.
We’ve also seen the House and Senate pass of two versions of major tax changes. The bills were rushed through Congress and are filled with unintended consequences. This week’s show also discusses what these proposed changes entail.
