Why Iraq is not a Country and it’s never too early to handicap a presidential race

Like Yugoslavia under Tito, Iraq was held together by force by a strongman leader, Saadam Hussein. When the leader goes, the artificial “country” falls apart.

All of our problems in Iraq can be traced to failure to understand this. And you will never guess who figured out this almost 10 years ago. The first half of this week’s Think Tank will discuss the history of Iraq in terms of its religious divisions and hatreds.

And in the second half, we will discuss the evolving 2016 presidential sweepstakes. Can anyone give a Hillary Clinton a run for her money on the Democratic side? And on the Republican side, we currently have a multicandidate dead heat. Who is poised to emerge from this crowd?
