Presidential election prognosis: The choices are clear
This week brought clarity in the presidential choice the voters will have in November: It looks like Donald Trump versus Hillary Clinton.
Bernie Sanders supporters may protest that the Democratic race is not over, but, short of a catastrophic event, there is no plausible path for Sanders to get the Democratic nomination — not that it is likely (or even desirable) that he should drop out.
Sanders continues to make a point and to influence the discussion. It will just not be as a major party nominee.
Given this choice, how do things stack up? What could happen this fall?
We discuss this and the interesting dynamics on the Republican side as some Republican officials jump on the Trump bandwagon (often with some trepidation) and others (notably two former presidents) indicate they will sit this one out.
